Criteria Meet Specification

Is the student able to put together a successful three touch email marketing campaign and articulate it clearly?

  • Presentation submitted using the Google Slides Template
  • Project presented in a professional way and all example slides and material have been excluded
  • Completed all of the required slides and included requisite screenshots
  • Student is able to articulate the basics of a three touch email marketing campaign (i.e. Plan, Test, Send & Analyze)

The student is able to create an Email Content Plan and successfully put together an Email Campaign Calendar?

  • Properly articulated the Target Persona profile using the template provided
  • Thoughtfully planned appropriate email content for each of the marketing objectives provided
  • Successfully created an Email Content Plan for Email #1 using the template provided
  • The email marketing campaign calendar is completed using the template provided and follows the general logic of the example given

Successfully craft an Email in MailChimp following the Email Content Plan they created

  • Successfully crafted an email using the MailChimp Tool
  • Successfully incorporated all components of Email #1 as outlined in the Email Content Plan
  • Screenshots provided of the email and submitted in the project slides
  • Email Copy maps to the content plan and is appropriate of an email with a marketing objective of engagement

Does the student understand A/B Testing and can create a basic A/B test?

  • Provides a thoughtful and appropriate alternative subject line for Email #1
  • Provides a thoughtful alternative call to action for Email #1
  • Articulated well the importance of A/B Testing and how it can be achieved

Student can perform basic analysis on email results and provide recommendations to improve email marketing campaign

  • Correct calculations are provided for Open Rate, CTR, and Conversion
  • The student is able to articulate what to do if someone on their list unsubscribes and why that is important
  • The student provides at least one meaningful recommendation on how they would improve the subsequent emails in their email marketing campaign
  • The recommendation should address at least one of the following aspects:
    • Changing the Visual
    • Changing the Copy
    • Further A/B Testing
    • Adding more CTAs
    • Changing the color of CTAs
